Lugano – Gandria
From September 2021 on the lake of Lugano there will be the first fully electric fast-charging motorboat in Switzerland, the motorship Ceresio 1931. Going on board you can discover this new 100% sustainable jewel and the beautiful lake landscape of Lugano.
The motorship Ceresio 1931 is part of the project venti35 which aims at the electrification of the lakes of Ticino and the creation of new professions and is in line with the federal objectives of cancellation of climate emissions by 2050.
Gandria is a romantic locality nestled on the shores of Lake Ceresio that may be reached either by land or by lake. Many tourists and locals enjoy the boat trip from Lugano and the walk back to Castagnola along the lake shore.
On the lake opposite Gandria, one finds the Museum of Swiss Customs that is located in a locality known as “Cantine di Gandria” that may be reached by boat. Along the trail from Cantine di Gandria to San Rocco there are several grotti, an ideal place to take shelter from the heat and to have the opportunity of getting a taste of the typical Ticinese cuisine.
